Hey guys in this tutorial you will be creating a cool text effect I discovered on accident. Anyway, lets jump right in!

Pre-Step: Pattern
Before we begin we're going to have to create a pattern real quick. Open up a 10x10 document and draw out this with a 1px pencil.
![[Image: tile0.png]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_vsWsuiDD9A1Gf_p-bMFln-N2lc2UeEk5-Teys8cW0piOglu99rlhGmpvawFo2qBhIUEi6JQVsswbxpKpI46udVhj6sms4k6L66MCi3i5a-Uw=s0-d)
Note: I added a grey background so you can see the white in the pattern. Leave your background transparent.
After you've created the pattern, define it. Edit>define pattern. Now our pattern is ready for use!
![[Image: tile0-2.png]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_sdzgQmusAxonQbk8zqkw3KStWjE8q4rNPwbXYAaWswRz8lx2uQdKimA-jVC7Ebxy8i8YWBgWAV8h-n3un8kchiU8pa1rMU1tEqwtXTh6g8AezC=s0-d)
Step 1:
Open up a fresh document 600x330px in size. Set the background to white.
![[Image: tile1.png]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_tIpz4ixrEw4gZrQ_29MOGSDD1Q6zN0Wl_ljHk2ztW38tjmETcv5FIX3SE5RU2YJYKi7Rzuf7TDhrfkOTVqlbBr2R758lAnJqgibTrSiKiV2Q=s0-d)
Step 2:
Set your foreground color to #a74930 and type out your text in big letters. I used the font "bebas".
![[Image: tile2.png]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_vePn4NFswI9MpC-T7O1Z53hB4B802dYrIe0tRgzOAUE_DvUmqk4kqEBbob_1wsEMDozCBTsfwfKbpR3nDnyoPf581ZZAfE1fhl_iHtF0LGQJA=s0-d)
Step 3:
Now set your foreground color to #7ca730 and type out the second part of your text in a new text box. In my case thats the "GFX" part.
![[Image: tile3.png]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_uUsDWj06gVuxj4ks12_7kbp6O6MFq8iV0fzeUrzdbGMFc9RexL4ppIefG-mmnwCsOWy8tmrDZkvMjqqbpT366ibXVgf9XkeqXGiSkk5u2XyII=s0-d)
Note: from this point on apply the steps to both text layers.
Step 4:
Open up blending options (layer>layer style>blending options) and apply drop shadow with the settings shown below.
![[Image: tile4.png]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_tqG1NCv9R4bv9dwRZB9268OFtPMcvPLa08dmF89T2iCJwO74W8Kf08Jv9XbYYE5C_imcwyrFgg1SR7eZMdGDc_JyVNyhXdb9HgSY8_lga-C1A=s0-d)
Step 5:
Now apply Gradient Overlay.
![[Image: tile5.png]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_uFuEU7vz5R5dcP8Xzy6Is7p9uRXcQMBhkAaOghIaPWhhQBqeP5U7UtVlBkEfSB0EEm1SV6JAkJJhq6EnvRI4DyZ6zEJx1Ip4d7aFn4ktuXsqA=s0-d)
Step 6:
Now it's time to use that pattern we made. Apply pattern overlay.
![[Image: tile6.png]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_ve_1EezimidBWsAVpjxFOwI3rpKfVhny02jsz9NpJY9Ta-EhCIk5qzeLgSP48IoPbV_DL4-WtvujVvVxnoqJfQygkBZvfEnIu1Wa86bqbGrFc=s0-d)
Step 7:
Last but not least apply stroke.

That's it, heres how your final product should look. Pretty cool huh?
